the car starts with no problem, but when I put the car in drive, the rpms needle not reving and car doesn't move properly,car is moving maybe 10 miles an hour, and the engine light comes on, what can I do to get the car to run properly ,is there a switch inside the vehicle to repair this problem

Since the check engine light is coming on, you need to have the computer scanned to determine what trouble codes are stored. Once you get the trouble code, you will have a good understanding what is causing the problem.
