The secondary, (rear) converter on my 320 has eaten it's lunch again. It was replaced by dealer under warranty around 75000 miles. I could easily cut both rear converters out and weld in straight pipe which I am seriously considering. I think the car would probably run better although I realize it would not be calif compliant. My questions is: do you think the ox sensors would be affected in a negative way? Both sensors are well forward of the rear converters and back of the front converters. From their position in the system, I don, t think it would affect them.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I can't advise you to remove the converter as this will cause compliancy issues, my concern is why the converter has failed, did you get any feed back from the dealer on the first failure and what had happened?
