Without warning, there was a strange sound coming from my dash. It sounded as though there was something caught in a vacuum. This sound continued with a bit of a squeal, but subsided to a degree with intermittent sound of a caught item. Is this the blower motor going out? If so, what is the typical expense associated with the repair?

Does the sound change when you change the speed of the blower motor?
