my car was running fine. i stoped for groceries, came back. key fod would not work. opened w/ key and every thing was dead. then inst. pannel went haywire. got a jump but nothing. please help

Have you had the battery tested? It sounds like that is where the problem is coming from. Many times, if the battery is too weak, a jump won't work.
