Thanks for the timely reply, but let me explain further the challenge with my freelander.
Initially I noticed a hesitation to movement of about two to three seconds whenever I slowed down or stopped when driving.

And then a friend advised me to check the transmission filter and change the fluid as well, which I did, I got the transmission filter fixed and used specified transmission fluid.

There was little or no improvement in fact the transmission became worse, when the engine is hot the car would not even move when I slow down or stop from motion to continue, I often have to pullover, turn off the engine and start the engine before it reluctantly and forcefully engages and moves. It really can be very frustrating.

We don't have Land Rover experts around here the mechanics just try what they can!

Another friend has suggested that I change transmission solenoids and we really don't know which ones to change out of the nine on the valve body because we don't know much about transmissions, that's the fix we're in, can you help?

Thanks,

Joseph.

I have seen the turbine shaft speed sensor go out or simply have the wrong readings, but I would run the codes which this guide can help you with.

If a codes comes up for it here's how to replace the turbine sensor which is inside of the valve body

Turbine Shaft Speed Sensor

Description
The turbine shaft speed sensor is located within the gearbox and is used by the TCM to monitor the input shaft speed. The TCM uses this sensor to ensure the correct gear ratio is selected and to ensure that there is not excessive slip within the gearbox drive train. The turbine shaft speed sensor detects the input shaft speed (turbine speed) and sends an electrical output to the TCM, which also supplies an ground path for the sensor. The sensor is an inductive sensor that produces a sinusoidal output at a frequency of 36 pulses per revolution of the input shaft.

If the vehicle speed exceeds 25 mph and the engine speed is above 1500 RPM while the turbine revolution is less than 600 RPM, after a period of 2 seconds a Turbine Failure is detected.

Hi, please which solenoids on the valve body of my 2002 freelander are responsible for controlling transmission among the nine solenoids? Please help me specify them.
Thank you.

Joseph.
