Very low rough idle. Car starts a little hard. Will stall if not giving pressing on pedal. New O2sensor' s. Doesn't overheat. Doesn't burn oil. Do notice exhaust smell. Exhaust louder than normal. Will blog sometimes on acceleration. New fuel pump, filter. Maf sensor six months old. Idle Air Control about a year old. Cleaned both. When IAC electric plug removed idle climbed to 1500 rpm but it did not run rough or stall. Code 171, lean. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have vacuum leak from the codes and symptoms. Have you checked for a vacuum leak yet?

Theres really no diagram to finding vacuum leaks it could be a vacuum line intake manifold etc leaking. You can spray carb spray around at idle and see if you get a change in rpm lower higher etc. Also the best way to find a vacuum is perform a smoke test. You would have to make a smoke machine or take it to a shop and have them smoke it.

It also after a couple miles from start up makes a very loud noise. Like you turned a shop vac on but if outside air temperature is below forty degrees it may come on and off intermittently.

With that lean code I would most likely say its a vacuum leak I would look for that noise when it happens also.

No, vacuum leaks, had smoke test done. Car has misfire #3 cylinder. Tested coils, Ok. Will not start when warm. If IAC is disconnected car starts at high idle, 1200 rpms or greater, misfire goes away. Idles very strongly. As soon as IAC is plugged in car stalls. IAC unit is brand new. I'm at a loss.
