I test drove a Kia Sportage 2002 model today, 258,000kms and heard a knock on the front end on intital accelaration and back off. Do you have any ideas?

Also how expensive would it be to replace a clutch....

Aprox 500 for the clutch. As far as the knock, if it is from the engine, check oil to make sure it is clean and tight. If it is, check all belt driven accessories. If they are all tight, you need to have it listened to by a tech that can identify a cam bearing, rod bearing, or main bearing knock.
