Any codes?Do you ever have to let up on the gas to get the car to shift?

i do have to let up on the gas to get the car to shift. i dont have any way of checking codes. the check engine light is on.

Take it to a auto parts store like auto zone and have them scan your car for codes let me know the exact code numbers you have not code descriptions.It does sound like part of your problem is a clogged cat.Have your exhaust checked for excessive back pressure.I have seen a lot of cars where you have to let up on the gas for it to shift and a lack of power to have a clogged cat.Let me know what you find.
