The transmission in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not up shift until around 4300 rpms. What is most likely the cause and is it an expensive repair? This vehicle is not driven daily. I recently drove it and it was fine at first. I needed to accelerate hard, then after that it started not wanting to shift until around 4300 rpms. And I believe it also is not downshifting properly either.

you may have a sticky valve in the trans or the govenor may be messed up. best to have a trans guy look at this and scan it.
