My 2002 jeep grand cherokee smells like gas after sitting overnight could it be from the charcol filter

Check flash codes and/or ddec II / III codes (most auto parts stores will do it for free)this will help isolate the problem. Suspect problem with purge system. This system purges gas vapor from tank & charcol filter. Can be a bad selonoid, loose hose, broken vaccum line ect. Don't be discouraged, just vigilant, you'll find it.

P.S. Make sure gas cap is tight after filling up. I know this sounds elementary, but a loose cap can inhibit the purge system from doing it's job properly.
