2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4 0 Had Air Bag Light On Diagnosed Front Right

My 2002 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 had an air bag light on, jeep diagnosed it and said it was the front right air bag impact sensor. I removed the battery and all parts to get to it. i changed the sensor, and when i put the battery back in i heard one noise from the electrical system and now have no electrical power at all. I put the old sensor back in and put the battery back in and still no power. Does the entire system need to be reset by jeep?

did you cross the battery cables??you may have blown the main fuse

No. But i will check the main fuse anyway. does the air bag system require reseting?

no, once it is repaired, the light will go out itself

I could not find any bad fuses, or anything that the fuse box and power box labeled main fuse. There are fusable links in the power box, but im not sure how to check them. Any other ideas?
