I have a 2001-2002 model isuzu axiom it wasnt driving for about 2 1/2 years, we have change the tranny and it seems like it want to drive but we cant test drive it as yet becouz the axiom don't have any power. When I mash the accelerator it blows and sometimes cut out. We change the gas filter and still no power now the guy is thinking we might need a complete head gasket set, but I really cant spend any money until I no for sure, I have been spending so much money on this and still cant drive it. Do you think becouz it was sitting for so long 2 1/2 years or so with out starting, it might just need waking up the valves and such? Please help me we are lost.

thanks

Hello,

Ok, the first thing you should have done since it has been sitting for 2 1/2 years is drain any old gas and put fresh new gas. Gas unless you put in an additive the preserves gas while in storage will only be good for about a year or so then it will start breaking down and smell like a shellac.

Well depending on how much gas was in it just adding a Cleaner and more gas won't help. The only way it would is if there was only about a gallon or two in it and you filled it up with fresh gas. Then would need to drain fuel from lines so the fresh gas can get to injectors.

You may also consider changing the Spark Plugs. With it trying to run on the bad gas, it will foul them out. But would try to make sure the fresh gas is getting to the injectors. So if it is running somewhat just let it run at idle for a while, about 30 minutes or so. If appears to start running better then would let cool down and replace Plugs. And test drive
