rough idle

2002 HYUNDAI ELANTRA

I took my car in to the garage to get a tune up and it still runs rough at idle. The system was cleaned out, new plugs, plug wires, and pcv valve. What could still be the problem?

do a compression test to rule out weak cylinders.

If it is weak cylinders; what then? Bad news?

you could say that. serious engine repairs like valves and pistons/rings could be required.
