Something is wrong with the transmission and it could be bad CV joints or the CV shafts has been dislodged causing the noise.
Shift lever to park and release handbrakes. Push the vehicle forward or backwards. If vehicle moved freely, the CV shafts should be the culprit.

The clutch or transmission has failed and you need to have it checked. It ould also be due to the CV shafts as per automatic transmission.
