Why does it take so long to pump gas. No matter how many times you adjust the nozzle you have to constantly pump gas to fill the tank with gas.

Hello,

This issue is usually due to the charcoal canister not being able to vent the fuel tank properly. As you add fuel the vent valve is designed to let out air after it gets through the canister. If there is a clog in the canister or the vent valve is bad it will prevent air from escaping. This will create the bottle neck affect as you try to fill up. And that takes a long time to fill up with fuel.

Are you getting any codes? Is the check engine light illuminated?
If so scanning and retrieving the codes can help diagnose the issue.

I have attached diagrams and testing procedure for those components below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
