My VX commodore series 2 sometimes revs at between 1200 & 1500rpm when idle, then shoots up to 2000rpm when I put it in park. Seems to happen intermittently, when the car has been running for a little while.

no I havent done a scan because I don't own scanning equipment. So I have cleaned the throttle body, the IAC, the MAF sensor. I also noticed that when I put it in cruise control the speed keeps going up until I brake.
