My interior lights stay on after opening the door. I have checked the rotary switch, override button
is off and all interior lights remain on. After 20 mins with the door closed the lights will go off, as they are supposed to, however as soon as I open the door again all interior lights come on and stay on. I removed the door handle from the extended door and there is a cooper pin coming out the top of it which looks a little worn but not to bad, Any suggestions?

There might be a door jamb switch at the end of the dash that may be inop or do you have the interior light switch turned on. Next to the headlight switch

Check for applicable trouble codes, the bcm is involved. Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free.
