No oil pressure ,are there any common problems with oil delivery system in 5.7 vortec engine, I have the oil pan dropped, crank rotates by hand so I know its not seized ,I'm just curious if there's anything else I should be looking at besides just changing the oil pump

Did you connect another oil pressure gauge to the engine to verify the NO OIL PRESSURE reading or were you just going by the oil pressure gauge on the dashboard?
If you were going by the dashboard gauge, these things can sometimes be misleading because of faulty oil pressure sending units of the gauge itself being bad (this is why no oil pressure should be verified by another gauge).

These engines are usually very reliable when it comes to oil pressure, rarely giving major problems [except for the sending unit and/or gauge on dash at times].

When you get back to me with your answer, I'll be able to figure out which direction we should go in as far as what to check while you have it down.
