Bought a 1500 Savana Van three weeks ago. Van was running good always started right up. Then we took van to auto repair to have the tail lights, brake lights fixed..electrical problem. Broken wire is what they said...$150 repair. Then Van would not start up. Finally when got it to start by banging on gas tank...only got two blocks and it died and won't start again. When they fixed electrical could they have done something that would make the van not start?

Sounds like you need to check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel pump by doing that-banging on the tank

I doubt the two are connected. theyre on completely different circuits. this problem is very common with this van. the fuel pump has failed and needs to be replaced. make sure that the plug and pigtail harness are replaced with it! they overheat and it will cause premature failure of the new pump
