My 2002 gmc savanna explorer custom van keeps blowing the fuse for the AC. We kept changing the fuses, tried bigger fuses, (sometimes it would work for a while, sometimes blow right away)changed some burnt out wires, nothing seemed to work. Finally got a new compressor, changed the whole thing. Thought it was finally fixed. Worked fine for a bit, now blowing fuses again. WTF! Bought a new compressor for nothing! Now have no clue what else it could be. Please any insight, or help would be appreciated. We live in Fl and are roasting!

First, never place higher amp fuses where they don't belong. It could cause a fire. As far as the problem, you have to have a short in the system. You need to start at the compressor and work your way back to see if you can find any damaged wiring.

Thanx guys, the mechanic (and neighbor transmission guy) are both asking us to obtain a schematic of the wiring in the van. Every web site seems to be a rip off, wanting credit card info for FREE diagrams, any advice? We are broke now, spent $500.00 on a new compressor kit and labor to install it that it appears that we didn't need? Ugghhh!
Thanx,
Kat
