The engine in my 2002 GMC Envoy seems like working on 5 cylinders only. Could that be spark plugs or something else?

No, I noticed more exhaust smell than usual.

Also engine vibrates more than usual.

If the check engine light hasn't come on, it leads be to think it could be related to the fuel system or even a catalytic converter that may be plugging. Check fuel pressure and the cat to confirm they are both good. If they are, there is a chance that the check engine light may be burned out.

Check those and let me know what you find.
