How do I reconnect the tailgate latch linkage on a '02 GMC 2500?

they have plastic clips that more than likely broke take the outside handle off with the two bolts and you'll be able to get into the gate and either replace the clips or put the old ones backon if they fell off. make sure to lube it while there as well
