2002 Gmc C1500 Truck V8 Auto Trans Sle Package Ever Time Get Out After Driving

My truck has a V8 Auto trans with the SLE package ever time I get out of it after driving a little bit I get a shock from the door. I'm afraid It might catch fire when I go to put gas in it. Is there anything I can do to fix that.

you are charged from static from the rug and your shoes. get a grounding strap for yourself and use it when you get gas so there is no spark
