It's my wife's and I drove it today. When it gears down on a hill, there is a noise, sounded like a diesel motor, that clacking sort of sound. No power loss or any other issue I noticed. Gears back up if you accelerate. Should I be worried?

If the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned. Also, make sure the engine temp isn't getting hot. Also, if you are hearing valve ping, try a better grade of fuel. If that doesn't help, have the knock sensor checked.

Thanks guys. No engine light, not running hot. I thought it might be noise from lifters or valves but not sure. I'll try the fuel and get the sensor checked.
