2002 Ford Taurus idle

The shaking is due to a misfire. How long since the engine was tuned up?

It was tuned up about 3 months ago it's not using fluids running at normal temperature it just acts funny when it sits too long with out moving check engine light will blink fast then go off when I hit the gas. Auto Zone said a leaky vacuum hose but all my hoses are fine. It was wrecked and a lot was redone

There's the missing valuable tidbit of information. A flashing Check Engine light indicates the most serious of problems. It means too much raw fuel is going into the exhaust system where it is going to overheat and damage the expensive catalytic converter. You're supposed to stop the engine right away. The most common cause is a spark-related misfire which would result in the shaking engine. Normally the main suspect is worn spark plugs and wires, but if yours were replaced only three months ago, the next likely suspect is a spark plug wire that wasn't snapped on all the way and the terminal has arced and burned away. Ford also has some trouble with their ignition coils. Depending on how one fails, it can result in one cylinder misfiring, or two.

The place to start is by having the diagnostic fault codes read and recorded. The people at many auto parts stores will do that for you for free.
