2002 Ford Laser KQ laser won't start

Hi I have a KQ laser which I blew the engine up in the car originally auto but the engine I got to replace it was a manual engine the car will not start after putting the engine in, the dash lifts come on but when I turn the ignition on there is no noise coming from the engine bay itself could it be possible that I need another auto engine for the vehicle or is there another way to get the car started either by changing the ecu or something g like that.
