I am looking at a f250 2002. It has the 5.4 gas motor. I keep reading about how it throws the plugs out. It that, that common?

yes, it is, it could cost about 300 at best to fix it but in some cases, it could require replacing the cylinder head at about 2200.
have it completely inspected before purchasing it and if you do, put an extended warranty on it that will cover this repair.
