2002 Ford Explorer Donot Put Pressure On Gas Peddle Just Slightly Touch Hearing

When I donot put any pressure on my gas peddle and just slightly touch it I am hearing a grinding noise. This also happens during backing,l and my brake light has just come on. Could you kindly explain?

have you had the brakes checked to see if the linings are worn out??
