Need to adjust parking brake

Has star adjuster like drum brakes see diagram below.

I have 4 way rotors. Not drums. I read somewhere that there is a rubber plug on the backside of dust cover to adjust from. How can I have a drum and a rotor. don't get it,,,,,,

Inside of rear disc is the drum park brake shoes apply on. if you pull caliper then disc you will see park shoes as in diagram. yes should be plug in backing plate to access star adj

I tried to adjust using this screw but car still roles when in neutral.

Wondering if you can tell me how to adjust the emergency brake. When I push the emergency brake pedal all the way down, it doesn't feel like it grabs much. It's so weak, its almost as if the emergency brake is not engaged. It will grab a little bit, but barely. The truck stops just fine when driving, but if I park on a hill, I like to set the emergency brake to provide additional parking safety. Is there an adjustment setting somewhere that needs adjusting? They are rear disk brakes. I am not sure if the emergence brake is cabled. Any ideas on how to make the brake grab nicely? Again, the brakes work just fine when driving and I use the brakes normally, just the emergency brake grabs very little when parked.

Parking Brake Shoe Adjustment (Expedition, Excursion, Explorer, Explorer Sport, Explorer Sport-Trac, Mountaineer & Super Duty Pickup)
NOTE:On all models except Excursion, Escape, Explorer, Explorer Sport, Explorer Sport-Trac, Mountaineer and Super Duty Pickup, parking brake system is self-adjusting and does not require adjustment.

Using Brake Adjustment Gauge (D81L-1103-A), measure inside diameter of drum portion of rear disc brake rotor. On Excursion and Super Duty Pickup, using parking brake adjuster screw, adjust parking brake shoe and lining until they drag against parking brake drum. On all other models, adjust parking brake shoe and lining to .020" (.508 mm) less than drum measurement.

How do you adjust your parking brake?

Do you have rear disc brakes? If so, you are dealing with a design that isn't too good. There are actually small brake shoes that ride on the inside of the brake rotor that are for the park brake. You adjust them just a you would drum brake shoes.

The parking brake assembly, inside the driverside rear wheel appears to dismantled into pieces. To avoid a costly expense, can i just remove the components so they stop rubbing against the rotor, and have no parking nrake. The cable has been disconnected from both wheels for awhile now, so its not that I would miss it. Is there any harm disengaging the mechanism, other than no having a parking.emergency brake ? Would you have an illustration/picture to go with it ?

I don't have a picture of the assembly. If you remove the shoes, it's not a problem other than you have no emergency brake, which as you mentioned, you already don't have. If you can afford to fix it, I would recommend it. I realize it's not the best set up, but in an emergency (brake loss) you'll be glad to have it.

a mechanic fixed the parking brake but it still does not hold. The parts he took out are brake shoes for drum brakes but I think (I can see thru wheels) that the car has disc brakes and rotor is clearly visible. Unless the parking brakes are separate set of brakes, am I being taken for a ride ?

The rear disc has a drum in the center rear that uses brake shoes for the park brake. chances are he didn't properly adjust the brakes.
