2002 Ford Escort Turn Signals Work Hazard Lights Work Checked Flasher Unit

My turn signals do not work and the hazard lights do not work. I have checked the flasher unit and it appears to be working properly but just clicks once when I turn the directional and does nothing else. Does anyone have any ideas? I realize the turn signal switch may not be working but am not sure how to troubleshoot this.

It sounds like the flasher is not doing what it should. See the turn switch only tells it what side you want to turn to it don't make it blink that is what the flasher does.
