what are the chances that when the timming chain broke that it did not cause other damages

applyed the brake car died dont recall hearing any noises. local mech. looked at it, and said it is the timimg chain. I then towed the car home. thank you littleway

If the timing belt/chain broke and open up the valve covers and have a helper crank engine and the valves are not moving then we can blame it- or thru the distributor by looking at the rotor spinning
