Great air conditioning until I shut off the vehicle. Start it back up and it blows hot air. Could a bad thermostat cause air conditioning problem? I also lose a small amount of coolant through the overflow. I let it sit a while and it is cold again.

Hello,

It sounds like the classic compressor clutch coil that is shorting out when hot. Here is a couple guides that will show you what you are in for when doing the job.

and

These diagrams (below) will help you get the problem fixed on your car.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
