2002 Dodge Ram water level

When I slow down the check gauge light goes on, and the water level indicator goes down, and then it goes right back up to normal, and the check gauge light goes off. I doesn't happen all of the time.

Are you referring to the temperature gauge or a "low coolant" warning light? I've never seen a gauge for coolant level. The temperature gauge will trigger the "Check Gauges" light if the temperature goes too high but the "low coolant" light will not. If the light is turning on intermittently, add some coolant to the reservoir. Don't fill it to the top. There needs to be room for it to expand when it gets hot.
