My rpm gauge acts like it out of gear when driving on 2002 doge ram 1500? What could be the problem? It acts like it is slipping out of gear, while driving down the road the rpms will top out and it will stop moving

Could be an internal problem such as the valve body and torque converter-throttle and governor pressures-have it pressure tested-
