I have a 2002 Dodge Ram, 4.6Lt. with 187,000 miles. When I stop at a red light the check gauges light comes on, and oil pressure drops all the way down to nothing. When I take off, the light goes out and the pressure goes back up to normal. other than that, it runs great, with no issues.

Can I assume you've already checked the oil level? That's the first thing. Next, throughout most of the '90s, Chrysler had a high failure rate of the oil pressure sending units, and the typical complaints were exactly what you described. The place to start is by having the actual oil pressure tested with a mechanical gauge. If it is okay, replace the sending unit. If the pressure really is low, it might help to switch to a higher viscosity oil at the next oil change. Worn engine bearings are the likely cause of the low pressure.
