Where did the wires break? Can't you just match up wire colors?

The pig tails pulled out of the plug but got the repair manual and got it figured but now not sure on why gas gauge still is not working. New pump should mean new sending unit...... Right.

You're the one that put it in. Did it come with a sender? Most do but not all..

So, I guess you are saying it was misdiagnosed in the first place. Did you check the grounds for the sender.

No I bared with it and figured fix it when the pump went. It worked for about ten min. No wires looked bad going to tank even put new pigtails on the wires that pulled out of the plug. Gues I'm just looking to find the next step in trouble shooting

Fuel level signals are processed by the PCM so you are going to need a professional level scan tool to be able to tell anything about this circuit.
