Check gages light came on my truck 2002 dodge ram 1500, battery gage is very low we replaced the altenator and put a new battery, Truck starts but the check gages light still comes on and the battery gage is on the low side, What else can it be?

Start by measuring the voltages on all three wires on the alternator while the engine is running. Holler back with those numbers.
