2002 Dodge Neon Will Drive Act Netural U Tap Gas Get Movement Along Driving Fine

My dodge neon will drive and then will act like it is in netural u can tap gas and get no movement along was driving fine before makes almost a transmission wine but sounds a bit different, however if gas is tapped had after the car acts up it grabs and pulls. I do believe it is slipping out of gear but have trouble understanding what is causing my problem can u help ?

beyond checking the fluid, it is an internal failure

My Neon did the same. I just topped up the transmission fluid and it came rite. You must check that on the transmission dip stick. If it short add some ATF fluid through the same dip stick.
