2002 Dodge Intrepid transmission

Transmission fluid came up out the dip stick I noticed smoke when I stopped im wondering if its because of me putting a whole qaurt of fluid in it the other day

You know we can't answer that. Was it a quart low before you put the fluid in? If not, why did you add any? Was it half a quart low? How did you check the level? You need to provide some details.

I just randomly did it but I drove it about a mile stopped to park thats when I seen the smoke so I opened the hood and looked at the engine to see thats where the fluid came out of. Would the car do that if it already had enough fluid?

If the fluid level gets high enough, it can be hit by rotating parts and air will be whipped up into it. That can cause it to foam up and come out the vent or the dip stick tube. If that is allowed to continue, damage can be caused to the clutch plates because air can be compressed and the fluid won't apply sufficient pressure to them to keep them from slipping.
