All the warning lights come on and stay on and none of the gauges work. I unhooked the headlight switch and everything works fine. Plug it back in and it's back to no gauges and the no bus message. Replaced the headlight switch and that wasn't the problem. What could be the problem?

Try plugging a scan tool to see if it can connect.

Check for poor ground circuit connections.

When the headlight switch is plugged in it i get code 1698. Without the headlight switch plugged in everything is fine. The truck runs either way.

Could not find any reference to this code in the DTC list. Reconfirm the code.

It most likely is a fault with bus communications, meaning you have faulty BCM or the wiring circuits.

1698 is the code. No CCD messages from TCM is what it says. Replaced tcm and the problem is still there.

No message can mean an open circuit between the control modules.

As I mentioned in previous post, 1698 is not found in DTC list.

Behind the TCM there is a ground circuit. Try cleaning it and retest.

Headlight switch is linked to Central Timer Module and poor ground circuit can cause this.

At front headlights, check the wirings for damage. There are known cases of wirings fusing together causing similar problems.
