Cruise goes right back off when button is pressed

Cruise control problem on 2002 dodge grand caravan 3.3l When the problem first started it would come on when I set it, then disingage after a few seconds. After I repeated that a few times it finally would cut off completely and wouldn't come back on till I restarted the engine.

This can be caused by a few things. Have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is cause from.
