To change the question,I now plan to replace the speedo assy.with a factory new speedo with zero mileage. What will the new odometer read. I hope the original mileage will be displayed.

A factory new speedometer assembly will have zero miles on it. Thus, it will read zero miles. The older, cable-type of speedometers you could have used a drill to set the vehicle mileage, but not the newer electronic ones.
