my car started hesitating and a noise under the car made me stop

I was driving home and my car started hesitating and a whining noise pulled over looked at no physical problem crinkle it back up and put in drive and the car wouldn't go anywhere.

will it drive in reverse? is there any noises while trying to drive ? is the engine running correctly while in park or neutral?

No the car will not shift into any gear I can move the shifter but it doesn't shift its like I didn't put it in reverse or drive it made a loud whining noise. Yea its full of transmission fluid. It runs fine as far as engine. This happened as I was driving and right after I turned right on to another road. Never have I had any transmission slipping or anything.

Check the drive shafts and CV joints for damage

My moms mechanic says transmission gone rebuild for 1600 FVPD axels good.
