belt start to squeek and then a loud pop

I was driving home from work and heard my belt start to squeak and then a loud pop. I didn't lose any power, and when I got home I checked and saw fluid had leaked from somewhere on the passenger side engine area. It is dark and I'm on gravel, so can't tell what happened?
