02 Chevy Venture heater problems

Have a 2002 chevy venture heater only blows warm air when going down the road. As soon as you stop it very soon starts blowing cold air. Put in new dash controls but did not solve the problem.

Could be a thermostat, but check the heater core. When engine is hot, quickly touch the upper and lower heater core hoses, if one is hot and one cool/warm, then heater core is blocked.

If both are warm then thermostat.

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
