Electrical question

I just purchased a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 2wd. 134,321 miles. On the left-hand side of the dash the battery light keeps flashing. I noticed the voltage is between the 14 and 19. Its definately running high. Then i noticed my temp gauge quit working. My heated seats quit working? Any ideas of things I can check? Thanks in advance.

Check to see if the alt is putting out 19v If that is the case, the regulator is bad and you are burning things up.
