I have a 2002 chevy trailblazer. I am able to move the gear shift handle but it is not going into gear. It is stuck in park.

Check if your brake lights are working if so-have the shift interlock control system checked-start at the shiftlock control solenoid-

This depends on if the linkage is broken or if its internal trans mission shift that is the issue. If you can get an assistant put parking brake on and hold brakes while one of you look at gear selector on trans mission. Move gear selector in vehicle if the gear selector on tranny doesnt move its the linkage.

This is on the drivers side of the transmission. The cable end pops off and should be easily popped back in. If the end is damaged then you will need to replace the cable.
