2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer No fire

I have a 2002 chevy trailblazer, I just replaced the fuel pump, it died on my wife and acted like it was in gear when you tried to start it. I took it to a dealership and they said it needed a starter. But I got it home crossed the starter over and it tried to start so where do I go from here.

Are there any trouble codes? Have you checked to see if there is power to the smaller wire on the starter when the key is in the start position? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?
