whats the advantage between an engine re-build and a new engine?

A rebuilt engine usually costs less and you can get a decent warranty. There is older, tested good parts in it. It may have new bearings and seals and gaskets but again used, refreshed. New is new. You get a better warranty usually, but all the parts are grand new, but it can cost a lot more. If there is a big difference in price than the rebuilt is just as good.
