will a wore out cat. converter make a roaring noise on deceleration

Cat. converter rattles when reved up in neutral and let accelerator off. truck making noise when decelerating between 35-15. u-joints and carrier bearing just replaced. wheel bearings and breaks appear to be fine

The insides sound like they came apart in the cat. I would suggest replacing it before it causes other problems. As far as the noise, it could make noise, but I don't know about a roaring noise. Do you only hear it when you decelerate?
